1. National Monument


National Monument or abbreviated as Monas or Monument Monas is a 132 meter high memorial that was erected to commemorate the resistance and struggle of the Indonesian people to seize independence from the colonial rule of the Dutch East Indies. Construction of the monument began on August 17, 1961 under the orders of President Sukarno and was opened to the public on July 12, 1975. This monument is crowned with a flame coated with gold sheets that symbolize the burning spirit of struggle from the people of Indonesia. The National Monument is located right in the middle of Medan Merdeka Square, Central Jakarta.

2. Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII)

Taman Mini Indonesia Indah is an Area of Indonesian cultural theme park in East Jakarta. An area of approximately 150 hectares or 1.5 square kilometers is located at coordinates 6°18′6.8"LS, 106°53′47.2"BT. This park is a summary of indonesian culture, covering various aspects of daily life of the people of 26 Provinces of Indonesia that are displayed in traditional architecture platforms, as well as displaying various clothing, dances, and regional traditions. In addition, in the middle of TMII there is a lake depicting miniature Indonesian islands in the middle, cable cars, various museums, and IMAX Keong Mas Theater and Tanah Airku Theater, these various recreational facilities make TMIII as one of the leading tourist areas in the capital.

3. Ragunan Wildlife Park 

Ragunan Wildlife Park or also called Ragunan Zoo is a zoo located in Ragunan area, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, Indonesia. The 140-hectare zoo was established in 1864. Inside is a collection of 295 species and 4040 specimens. Ragunan was closed for about three weeks on September 19, 2005 because the animals inside were infected with bird flu, but reopened on October 11, 2005. The zoo has many rare animal species including cockatoos, orangutans, gorillas, anoa and elephants.

4. Istiqlal Mosque

Istiqlal Mosque is the national mosque of the Republic of Indonesia located in the former Wilhelmina Park, northeast of Medan Merdeka Square in the middle of which stands the National Monument, in the center of the capital city of Jakarta. It is one of the 10 largest mosques in the world that can accommodate more than 200,000 worshippers. To the east of this mosque stands the Jakarta Cathedral Church. The Chairman of the Istiqlal Mosque Management Board and the Grand Imam of Istiqlal Mosque is Prof. Dr. Nasaruddin Umar, M.A. The construction of this mosque was initiated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia at the time, Ir. Soekarno. The laying of the first stone as a sign of the start of the construction of Istiqlal Mosque was carried out by Ir. Soekarno on August 24, 1961. The architect of The Istiqlal Mosque was Frederich Silaban, a Protestant Christian and the fifth son of a Lutheran pastor, Rev. Jonas Silaban of the Huria Christian Batak Protestant church. The mosque has a modern architectural style with marble-lined walls and floors, decorated with geometric ornaments of antique steel. 

5. Taman Impian Jaya Ancol

6. Musium Sejarah Jakarta


Fatahillah Museum has the official name of The History Museum of Jakarta is a museum located on Jalan Taman Fatahillah Number 1, West Jakarta, with an area of more than 1,300 square meters. This building was formerly batavia city hall which was built in 1707-1710 on the orders of Governor General Joan van Hoorn. It resembles the Palace Dam in Amsterdam, consisting of a main building with two wings in the east and west as well as sanding buildings used as offices, court rooms, and basements used as prisons. On March 30, 1974, this building was inaugurated by Mr. Ali Sadikin as the Jakarta History Museum.

7. Dunia Fantasi (Dufan)

Dufan or also called Dunia Fantasi is a theme park located in taman Impian Jaya Ancol, North Jakarta, Indonesia which was inaugurated and opened to the public on August 29, 1985.

8. The Proclamation Monument

The Proclamation Monument is a memorial to the proclamation of independence of the Republic of Indonesia that stands in the Proclamation Park complex on Jalan Proclamation, Central Jakarta. The park is located in Sukarno's former residence on Jalan Pegangsaan Timur 56. The house, which has been demolished, is the site of the reading of the proclamation of independence. In the complex there are also monuments of two large Sukarno-Hatta statues that stand side by side, similar to the photo documentation when the proclamation text was first read. In the middle of the two proclamator statues is a statue of the proclamation text made of black marble slabs, with the arrangement and shape of writing similar to the original when the manuscript.

9. Bidadari Island Jakarta
